    lossless png compression

If google or any yslow optimizer is asking to compress png using a lossless method => a good approach is this program, cli, very simple: optipng.sourceforge.net

ie in windows, fire a cmd and write: optipng.exe -u 1 filename

it will save up to 75-80% of a png file (if it was 1mb, it will be 200kb!) without affecting at all the quality. The “magic” is that web browsers support a special kind of compression that neither photoshop or the pc support. if you open a compressed png in photoshop it will look awful..

      Ideas:

A better process for handing off clients to new PC’s
Ways for the PC to get a better connection with the client prior to Kickoff meetings (i.e. If Becky spoke with them in the past, it would be helpful for a PC to know what they talked about, and what advice Becky gave them about their site/project/etc – some clients are getting frustrated bc they think the PC should know what Becky told them, and also know the advice Becky has given them already). It seems like the kickoff form and the MA aren’t enough, especially if the client has talked to Becky in the past.
Getting content consistent: Jane says pages should be 700-1000 words for google, Becky says 500 words for google. When two different things are being said, we should know which to be clear and concise.

This is very EXCITING! For me, knowing the future goals of CounselingWIse makes it that much more fun and exciting to be part of such a great team. It also excites me to see that all of our hard work is paying off – in more ways than one.

I also love that you put so much focus on US. I really admire the fact that making sure the team is happy and having fun doing what we are doing, is so important to you and the vision of CounselingWise. This makes working at CW so rewarding!

I seriously cannot wait to see where CW goes! Yay CW! 🙂 🙂 🙂

This was very informative and helped me understand the company better. I’m excited to be part of a company that has such exciting growth potential. Already I have been given some new responsibilities, so I am looking forward to learning all I can at CW. Also: I am game for doing something once a month!

copyright in the footer, standard for CW sites

    hi all

what is the standard for copyrights in the footer for our site?

    becky says:

    Copyright, year, name-of-company-or-person
Then we usually have address and phone, too.

    here is an example:

Options for Logos – What to tell the client (Copy & Paste into Email)

If you want a logo designed, below is information about your options and what we need from you.

    You will need to provide:

    • 3 logo examples of what you like
    • colors
    • fonts

Here are three that we have done:
    http://www.nevillecounseling.com
    http://www.practicebuildingbook.com/klara/
    http://www.counselingwise.com

    1. You can go to http://www.fiverr.com and do it yourself – the starting price is $5, and will take your time.
    2. We can do it for you, which will cost between $100-$150.
    3. You can go to 99 Designs (http://99designs.com) and buy one there (this orients them and lets them see that it costs a minimum of $299 to get a logo.

Along with a logo, most people include a tagline. A tagline will vary depending on your logo name, and sometimes your locations (for example: if your logo name is Neville Counseling – you obviously already do counseling, so you can talk about the populations your serve. If the logo is your name, you need to include information about what you provide and possibly your location. If you are in a city where location is extremely important to people (like NYC), you may want to include a neighborhood in your tagline (for example practicebuildingbook.com/Peggy).
