Heard this is a great photo editing tool. Supposedly really easy. I have not used it so can’t vouch, but thought I’d pass it on.

Checking photo size with Jing
Hello peeps,
Becky asked me to add this to the P2. Another way to check exact dimensions of a slider or placeholder photo on a site is to use Jing. Click the image button and slide the crosshatch over the photo. In the bottom right corner of the box should be the exact dimensions of that photo in pixels. I use this to determine what photo size to purchase for my clients. I think on most of our websites the width of the slider is 960px, so I always choose photos with a width that is just a tad bigger so I know they won’t stretch.
Hope that helps.

Getty Images for Free?
Hey all — this was sent to me by one of our clients… very interesting.
At first, I was thinking – great, we can get images for free! But, here is the catch: FREE is not for commercial use. (Our clients are all commercial ventures, promoting their practices).
Here’s an article that clarifies it: http://www.bjp-online.com/2014/03/10-facts-you-need-to-know-about-getty-images-embed-feature/
Oh well, seemed too good to be true!

What is the optimal photo size for a website?
To prevent photos from being blurry, you want them roughly 600X400 pixels (landscape).

If you are on WordPress, and use the Media Uploader, the backend will automatically generate copies of your image in multiple sizes. There a few that are already predefined, plus you can define other sizes if you need to: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-additional-image-sizes-in-wordpress/
