Online appointment scheduling research and tips

    Hi all
Here are a few links for popular online scheduling. Tips for clients – it is recommended to have Precision Scheduling (which also supports opening time-slots in increments) and LOTS if not unlimited SMS to alert clients of their appointments.

For the most part they run $20 – $30 per month for the services. Just so you guys know, therapy sites partnered with http://www.yellowschedule.com so that is why some clients already use them. My experience is that the customer service is really helpful and they offer what the others offer for appointment scheduling online.

Most online schedulers can be integrated with WP sites so that isn’t an issue.

Here are the links to other good rated online schedulers and pricing.

Is there a “this is how to set up and access your e-mail” document?

Launching two new sites to hostgator today, and I’m curious if we have a standard instruction form to pass on to clients regarding how to access their new e-mail account. Searching in ‘geterdone” but no luck so far…

Best bet, so that folks don’t have to login to hostgator to see their email and deal with very substandard email managers (like Squirrelmail) is to have their email forwarded to their regular email (gmail, yahoo, etc.)

Client wants to transfer godaddy email host to host gator. I am trying to convince her to forward to regular email. Client then asks, how can I ensure that my godaddy email inbox is preserved/no emails are lost in the transfer process? Anyone out there who has an answer for this? Is it possibly to have the website at HostGator and keep the email client with Go Daddy – how much extra is it for Go Daddy to host emails? This is for the purposes of not ‘losing any emails’ in the transfer process from GoDaddy to Host Gator.
      Please help if you can.

Not sure how to guarantee anything, but a client that recently moved hosting to us was able to access her old c-panel at godaddy after her site had been moved. She then went in and forwarded all e-mails she needed to save. I would say this is a question the client needs to ask godaddy.

just spoke to godadddy. seems they tell you to download your inbox emails to outlook/entourage – whatever webmail system on your computer if you have one.
but this is what i recommended because the client in NOT tech savvy

i told the non-tech savvy client this and also recommended they change their email to a free email like gmail if they do not want to pay for godaddy email hosting:

If this is the case this is what I recommend – if you want to host with us at Host Gator, you can still keep your Go Daddy email account (since you already have this set up) – They offer an ‘imap’ email account that allows 10 email boxes per year for about $90 per year (less $$ if you sign up for 5 years). You would have your website hosted on HostGator and your email hosted on GoDaddy so that way you wouldn’t have to worry about losing any inbox emails.

The other option with GoDaddy that HostGator does not do is the outlook exchange which is more of a syncronizing system that talks to calendars/intranets/etc which is only if someone uses outlook for everything.

If you choose to change the email host and don’t want to pay go daddy for the email hosting, it is included in HostGator’s package. The recommendation though is to have your email sent to your regular email inbox at gmail or cox.net or whatever free inbox you have now instead of going onto HostGator’s email to retrieve all emails (it is just not as good as a .gmail or cox.net)

where is the best place to store and maintain credibility icons?

Maybe here? You’ll need to tag the post as credibility icons so it’s searchable.

They are the logos for the various organizations that counselors and therapists are affiliated with. We generally place them in the footer on the websites

    Billing for STWP Projects

PCs – I think there is confusion re billable vs not billable time for STWP projects. I’m going through monthly billing and have noticed a couple of projects that have STWP time marked as NOT Billable.

Just so you know, in this new project format, ALL time should be marked billable. We credit their invoice with the $500 they initially paid, but all time is BILLABLE. Nothing is included in a fixed price amount, at this juncture.

Please let me know if any questions.

Finding, Buying and Installing WordPress themes

    How to find themes

    1. Search in google for “responsive wordpress themes” and add modifier (such as color, industry, mood, etc
    2. Go to Elegantthemes.com — we have a membership
    3. Find a WordPress site you like and identify the theme they’re using (video: http://screencast.com/t/bxG6fVSMDO20)

    How to buy it

    1. If it’s in Elegant themes, login with our userid (Username: page1pros
Password: iengoy6o) and download it.  We pay a quarterly fee to belong to this.  CHARGE the client the retail amount by entering the price in LGED as an EXPENSE.
    2. If not Elegant themes, then buy it with the Page1pros paypal account or with the P!P credit card. CHARGE the client the amount we paid by entering the price in LGED as an EXPENSE.

    Installing it

Once you purchase and download, either upload the file to LGED for the developer, or send the email with the download link to the developer to install.

    Google Places Listings

For some clients, we create and/or optimize their Google Places listings. JI in the Philippines is our go to guy for that. This post is meant to give you some general knowledge about Google Places listings and what we do.

Google Places is also called Google Local (and used to be called Google Maps). Search on couples counselor denver and you’ll see something like this:

    http://screencast.com/t/AglW5fg1

Optimizing the listing involves creating a title, description, selecting the correct categories, uploading optimized photos (we usually start with what the client has on their website), making some quick videos via Animoto and optimizing them, and building citations.

Here is a post on our blog for those of you who want to know more:

    http://www.counselingwise.com/whats-wrong-with-your-google-places-listing/

We charge a 1-time set up fee (now set at $500) and then a monthly citation service to create a footprint online for that business.

Ranking success depends on many factors, including the organic strength of the site, the optimization of the listing, itself, and most importantly, the number of reviews the client gets.
